Discomfort varies from person to person, but the Splendor X is designed with a dual cooling system to enhance comfort. Most patients describe the sensation as similar to a cool rubber band snapping against the skin, with the cooling making the experience more tolerable.

We recommend waiting 4 weeks between the first and second treatments. After that, sessions should be spaced 6-8 weeks apart, as hair growth slows down due to the laser’s effectiveness in targeting hair in different growth phases.

Before the procedure, the practitioner will explain how the Splendor X’s blended wavelengths work and review the dual cooling system used during treatment. They will discuss laser safety procedures, potential side effects, and the estimated number of treatments needed for optimal results. A consent form will be required before beginning treatment.

The treated area may appear pink or red for a few hours up to a couple of days. Hair will begin to shed from the follicles within 10-14 days. If shedding does not occur naturally, it is safe to shave the area to remove the remaining hair.

The number of sessions needed varies depending on hair type, skin condition, and hair growth cycle. The Splendor X uses unique blended laser wavelengths that effectively target hair in the anagen phase (growth cycle). Most patients achieve significant hair reduction after 6-8 treatments.

Noticeable improvements typically occur after the 2nd treatment, which helps reset the hair growth cycle. By the 5th treatment, many patients see a significant reduction in hair growth, as the laser’s effects compound over multiple sessions.

Treatment duration depends on the size of the area being treated and the number of sessions completed. Small areas, such as the upper lip, may take around 15 minutes, making it convenient for quick appointments.

Avoid direct sun exposure for 4-6 weeks before and after the treatment, or until the practitioner advises otherwise. Use sunscreen with at least SPF 30 daily, reapplying every 80 minutes when outdoors. Do not wax, tweeze, or undergo electrolysis for at least 6 weeks before your treatment to ensure optimal results.

Side effects are minimal but may include redness, swelling, blistering, temporary hyperpigmentation, or purpura (a mild laser-induced “bruise”). These effects typically resolve within a few days.
